QBE Insurance appoints its Asia CFO Tay Siang Leng as interim CEO of Wholesale Markets Asia, replacing Ronak Shah who will join MSIG Asia as regional CEO.
QBE Insurance Group named Tay Siang Leng interim CEO of its Wholesale Markets Asia division, the company said Monday. Siang Leng, who has served as QBE Asia’s CFO since 2019, reports to regional chief Rob Kosova.
He replaces Ronak Shah, who is on garden leave through September and later joins MSIG Asia as regional CEO. “We thank Ronak for his nine years of service to QBE Asia,” the company said.
Siang Leng helped set up the Wholesale cluster, according to the firm. He also sits on the boards of QBE Singapore, India, QBE Asia Pacific Holdings, and QBE Asia Services, and chairs QBE Vietnam. He has taken over day-to-day responsibilities in Wholesale Markets Asia and will step away from his finance role during the transition to keep operations running for partners and customers, QBE Asia said.
His past roles include VP and CFO at Allied World Assurance in Singapore, CFO at RSA Insurance Singapore, finance manager for Asia Pacific at FM Global, assistant director for insurance supervision at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, accountant at the Singapore Ministry of Finance, and auditor at PwC.
QBE Asia is pressing ahead with its business transformation focused on digitalization, AI integration, wholesale markets, and P&I growth in the region, supported by recent hires in those areas.
