PureGym said it will enter the Irish market with its first clubs in central Dublin, opening early next year. The company will offer no-contract memberships from €29.99 a month. Further expansion across the region is planned, the company said.
The move builds on a period of sustained global growth. PureGym entered the US market in 2024 through the acquisition of Blink Fitness. Its global footprint now exceeds 700 clubs, concentrated in the UK with more than 460 locations, plus a growing presence in Switzerland, Denmark and the Middle East.
Sport Ireland research shows personal exercise, including weightlifting and cardio, has become the country's most popular form of sport. Weekly participation in that category rose to 20% of the population from 12% in 2017.
Alex Wood, Group CEO at PureGym, said the company was thrilled to be opening in the Republic of Ireland, a country with a rich history of sport, exercise and activity. “Today's news marks an important milestone in our mission to inspire healthier nations by bringing high-quality, low-cost fitness to an even wider audience, at affordable prices,” he said.
The first Dublin clubs will open at the start of 2025. PureGym said it will announce specific locations closer to the launch date.
