Proteomics Inks Healius Deal for Promarker Blood Tests in Australia

Proteomics confirmed that revenue from the deal cannot be reliably estimated at this stage. The Promarker portfolio is at an early commercialisation phase.

Proteomics managing director David Morris called the agreement an important step in the company's commercialisation strategy. "By combining our accredited laboratory capability with Healius' pathology distribution infrastructure, we have established a scalable pathway to support the phased rollout of the Promarker portfolio across Australia," he said.

Healius group executive Anthea Muir said the Promarker portfolio complements Healius' pathology offering by expanding the range of predictive and diagnostic testing available to Australian clinicians.

The Promarker tests use plasma protein biomarkers – protein 'fingerprints' in the blood – to measure a person's risk of diabetic kidney disease, esophageal adenocarcinomas, and endometriosis. The company has secured multiple patents covering all three tests.
