P&G posted fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $3.04 billion, or $1.26 per share, down from $3.62 billion, or $1.48 per share, a year earlier. Excluding restructuring and other items, the company earned $1.43 per share.
Net sales rose 2% to $21.2 billion. Organic revenue, which strips out acquisitions, divestitures and currency moves, was unchanged for the quarter. Volume across P&G's portfolio was flat.
During the full fiscal 2026 year, P&G posted volume growth in only one quarter. Like many consumer companies, it has seen demand soften as shoppers trade down to cheaper private labels or stretch their purchases of shampoo and detergent.
The beauty division was the top performer in the fourth quarter, posting 3% volume growth. The segment includes Pantene shampoo and Olay and SK-II skincare products.
Fabric and home care, which houses Tide detergent and Swiffer, reported volume rose 1%.
P&G's baby, feminine and family care division and its grooming business each reported volume fell 1%. Health care was the worst performer, with volume shrinking 3% on weaker oral care sales.
For fiscal 2027, P&G expects core earnings per share of $6.89 to $7.11 and all-in sales growth of 1% to 3%. Wall Street had expected earnings per share of $7.04 and revenue growth of 2.7%, according to a survey by LSEG.
P&G also said CEO Shailesh Jejurikar will become chair of the board effective Aug. 1, replacing former chief executive Jon Moeller.
