Pets at Home said its Pet Pals programme has educated more than one million children across the UK, marking what the company called a significant milestone for its pet welfare education initiative.
During the 12 months from summer 2025 to summer 2026, 132,303 children attended Pet Pals workshops across six campaign cycles. Stores hosted 51,801 sessions, and more than 184,000 places were booked, the retailer said.
This summer alone, 44,403 children have already attended workshops at 396 stores, with event days still running and thousands of bookings yet to be recorded. The final figure is expected to rise, the company added.
Pet Pals offers free, interactive workshops for children aged four to ten, covering topics such as nutrition, exercise, grooming, play and friendship. The sessions aim to teach responsible pet ownership through hands-on activities.
