
PC Gold (ASX:PC2) reports up to 99.4% gold extraction from PFS metallurgical tests at Spring Hill, with coarser grind reducing power costs. Updated MRE due mid-December.
PC Gold (ASX: PC2) posted strong results from pre-feasibility metallurgical testing at its Spring Hill project in the Northern Territory. Six master composite samples covering the oxide and transitional zones, along with fresh rock, returned gold extraction rates as high as 99.4%, the company said.
CEO Ashley Pattison said the tests confirmed "strong gravity recovery, very low abrasion and excellent overall gold extraction" and that the weathered mineralisation showed free-milling characteristics. The biggest surprise, according to Pattison, was that the oxide domains liberate at a substantially coarser grind size than previously assumed.
"The grind size of the mineralisation is the critical driver towards the power consumption of the plant," Pattison said. "At a coarser grind size, this has the potential to materially reduce grinding power requirements and therefore processing costs, relative to a finer grind, while also providing potential for higher plant throughput."
The company also reported true specific gravities for two composite samples representing oxide and transitional material from the Hong Kong and Far West Lode zones. Both came in at 2.94 tonnes per cubic metre, well above the modelled densities of 2.57 and 2.69 t/m³ used in the July interim mineral resource estimate. Pattison flagged the Link Zone as a key focus for further density work because of the presence of hematite and maghemite, which should produce a higher bulk density value.
All composite samples showed very low consumption of lime and cyanide, helped by the high quality of site water and the absence of cyanicides, PC Gold said.
An updated mineral resource estimate incorporating the new density data is scheduled for mid-December 2026.
