Florence Durousseau, a 30-year industry veteran from Munich Re and Hannover Re, will lead Pacific Life Re's European capital solutions team.
Pacific Life Re hired Florence Durousseau as Head of Capital Solutions, Europe, the company said Wednesday. The appointment adds a senior executive with more than 30 years in life and health reinsurance to a team that has been expanding across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Durousseau is a qualified actuary who previously held leadership roles at Munich Re, Arch Re, and Hannover Re. At Hannover Re she led business development and financial solutions initiatives across global markets. Her mandate at Pacific Life Re will focus on helping insurers improve capital efficiency and reduce balance sheet volatility.

Andrew Murphy, managing director of Capital Solutions, said the hire builds on momentum from the last 18 months. “Her deep technical expertise and knowledge of European markets will help us translate client needs into new structures and original solutions,” Murphy said.
Durousseau said she was drawn by the firm’s commitment to innovation and client orientation. “I can’t wait to get started,” she said.
