Over 1,000 PCG, health workers train in CPR for sea routes

More than 1,000 Philippine Coast Guard and local government personnel, along with barangay health workers, trained in life-saving emergency response on July 15 in Cebu City. The session launched the Sagip CPR Nautical Highway, an initiative timed ahead of National Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Day on July 17.

The program aims to build CPR-ready communities along the country's major sea routes. It is part of the broader Sagip CPR movement led by Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc., which has set a goal of training one million Filipinos in CPR. The push responds to a rising number of sudden cardiac deaths nationwide.
