Orla Mining settles 2025 productivity bonus dispute at Camino Rojo mine in Mexico, allowing work to resume. The resolution removes a near-term risk ahead of the pending merger with Equinox Gold.

Orla Mining reached a deal with workers at its Camino Rojo gold mine in Mexico over an outstanding 2025 productivity bonus, ending a stoppage that had paused operations earlier this month. The agreement was approved by employees and signed before the Mexican Labour Authority, the company said. Terms were not disclosed.
The Vancouver-based miner had idled the site temporarily while negotiations stalled. The resolution removes a near-term operational risk as Orla moves toward a merger with Equinox Gold, announced last month. Equinox Gold shareholders are scheduled to vote on the combination July 22.
Camino Rojo is a key asset for the combined entity, producing gold from an open-pit operation in Zacatecas state. Orla chief executive Jason Simpson thanked the workers, the union and the labour authority for reaching what he called a cooperative resolution.
The dispute emerged during a period of heightened corporate activity. With the bonus matter settled, Orla can focus on the merger process and the integration planning that follows.
Equinox Gold, which carries an AlphaScala score of 49 and a Mixed rating, is also a gold-focused producer with operations in the Americas. The stock page for EQX is available here. The broader gold sector has seen a series of consolidation moves this year, and the Orla-Equinox tie-up fits that pattern. A deeper look at Camino Rojo's operating margin and permit progress is covered in Orla's first-quarter deck here.
