Ore Resources' diamond drilling at Kangaroo Hills returned 27m at 1.33% Li2O from near surface, supporting a DSO study due in coming weeks. Shares steady at 6.4¢.
Ore Resources (ASX: OR3) has reported shallow, thick lithium intersections from all five holes in its diamond drilling program at the Kangaroo Hills project in Western Australia's Goldfields region. The results reinforce the prospectivity of the Big Red pegmatite system, part of the broader Coolgardie lithium projects.
Managing director Nick Rathjen said the drilling delivered on two fronts. It provided core samples for metallurgical and ore sorting studies, and confirmed continuity of grade and thickness. One hole returned 27 metres at 1.33% lithium oxide from a near-surface depth of 4.0 metres.
Rathjen also noted that an assessment of potential iron oxide contamination during sample preparation confirmed low intrinsic iron content at Big Red, which he called "a further positive indication of its suitability for downstream processing."
The company is advancing a technical study to optimize project economics. Samples from this diamond program will support ore sorting assessments and additional metallurgical test work. Rathjen said Ore remains on track to deliver a direct shipping ore (DSO) study in the coming weeks, alongside an initial mineral resource estimate for Kangaroo Hills.
"Together, these milestones will provide an important foundation for evaluating the project's development potential," he said.
OR3 shares traded at 6.4 cents before the open, giving the company a market capitalisation of roughly $53 million.
