Ore Resources (ASX:OR3) defined new extensions at Big Red and Potoroo pegmatite systems, with intercepts up to 34m at 1.11% Li2O. Further drilling planned for late CY26.
Ore Resources (ASX:OR3) has extended both the Big Red and Potoroo pegmatite systems at the Kangaroo Hills lithium project in Western Australia. The company released drilling results on Monday that show consistent lithium grades and widths over a 500-metre northeast-southwest strike.
At Big Red, hole KHRC214 returned 34 metres at 1.11% Li2O from 77 metres, including a higher-grade zone of 14 metres at 1.63% Li2O from 96 metres. Hole KHRC211 intercepted 18 metres at 1.03% Li2O from 103 metres. KHRC209 returned 28 metres at 0.89% Li2O from 68 metres.
Step-out drilling north of the existing Big Red lines also hit mineralisation. KHRC216 returned 12 metres at 1.05% Li2O from 147 metres. KHRC200 encountered 10 metres at 1.02% Li2O from 145 metres. Ore said further work is needed to define higher-grade trends and thickening mineralisation to the north.
At the adjacent Potoroo system, a 50-metre northern extension was defined by KHRC201, which returned eight metres at 1.08% Li2O from 130 metres. Potoroo remains open along a north-south strike. The company described that as “ongoing growth potential.”
“This programme has delivered on all fronts, including material strike extensions at both Big Red and Potoroo,” managing director and CEO Nick Rathjen said.
Rathjen said the results increase confidence in the scale and continuity potential of Kangaroo Hills. He noted that improving lithium market conditions and rising activity around the company’s Coolgardie projects are driving a review of near-term development and commercialisation pathways. Options include export, direct-shipped ore, or domestic ore sales. “Kangaroo Hills is one of the few remaining lithium projects in Australia, not in development, production, or subject to existing arrangements,” he said.
More lithium-focused work is planned for late CY26. That includes further drilling at Big Red and Potoroo, regional target testing at Kangaroo Hills, metallurgical test work, and initial drilling at Miriam. A regulatory update is expected in the coming weeks.
