Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom is rolling out a limited-time beer and appetizer promotion tied to the global soccer tournament, alongside four permanent menu additions. The World Taps & Apps Tour runs June 24 through Aug. 16 at participating locations across 21 states.
The tour pairs three national beer partners – Kirin Ichiban, Stella Artois and Bell's Oberon – with three local draft selections chosen by each restaurant. The experience also includes the Berry Cherry Limeade BuzzBallz cocktail and two new appetizers that have been added to the core menu.
“Old Chicago has always been a place where people gather to celebrate the moments that bring them together, whether that's cheering on their favorite team, discovering a new beer or sharing great food with friends and family,” Senior Director of Operations Jeremy Underhill said. “The World Taps & Apps Tour combines all of those experiences in a way that feels especially fitting during this global soccer event.”
The permanent menu additions include four new items designed to broaden the chain's appeal beyond pizza. Old Chicago operates more than 52 restaurants nationwide and is known for its three pizza crust styles: Chicago-style Tavern Thin, Ale-Infused, and OC Thick pan-style.
Guests who participate in the tour can unlock rewards through the OC Rewards program. The chain also runs the World Beer Tour, which rewards customers for sampling 110 beers from around the globe.
The promotion arrives as restaurant chains increasingly tie limited-time offers to major sporting events to drive traffic during the summer months. Old Chicago's approach combines the tournament tie-in with permanent menu investment, a strategy Underhill said is meant to “keep the excitement going beyond game day.”
