Ola Electric reported Q1 FY26 vehicle registrations of 16,144 units in June, doubling QoQ growth. The EV maker's performance signals strong demand in India's two-wheeler segment.
Ola Electric said its Q1 FY26 vehicle registrations doubled compared with the prior quarter, hitting 16,144 units in June alone. The company disclosed the figures in its monthly regulatory filing, marking the second consecutive quarter of accelerating sales.
The growth reflects broader momentum in India's electric two-wheeler market. Government subsidies under the FAME scheme and rising petrol prices have pushed more buyers toward electric alternatives. Ola holds roughly 30% of the domestic e-scooter segment, ahead of rivals such as Bajaj Auto's Chetak and Ather Energy.
For investors tracking the EV supply chain, Ola's ramp-up carries weight. Higher volumes mean increased demand for batteries, motors, and charging infrastructure. Battery makers like Exide Industries and Amara Raja Batteries have already expanded lithium-ion production capacity in anticipation of sustained growth. Component suppliers and contract manufacturers that serve Ola's factory in Tamil Nadu may also see order book expansion, though none have yet revised guidance.
The timing matters. India's EV penetration in two-wheelers has crossed 6% of total sales, up from about 3% a year ago. If Ola maintains its pace, the company could challenge internal-combustion scooter sales within two to three years. That would pressure legacy manufacturers such as Honda and TVS to accelerate their own electric launches.
A risk remains on the regulatory side. The government recently reduced FAME subsidies for electric two-wheelers, a move that raised final prices by ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 per unit. Ola absorbed some of the increase through cost cuts and retained its pricing. Margins, however, face pressure if input costs rise further or competition forces discounts.
Ola's June registration number is the highest monthly figure the company has recorded. The next check point will be the Q2 FY26 opening, when festival season demand typically lifts two-wheeler sales across the board.
