Ocean Park Hong Kong launches CANTON BEATS, its largest retro Cantopop DJ water party, from July 4 to Aug. 30. International guest DJs and 1980s-themed nights aim to boost summer attendance.
Water World Ocean Park Hong Kong is betting on nostalgia to draw crowds this summer. The park will launch CANTON BEATS, its largest retro Cantopop DJ water party to date, on July 4. The evening event runs through Aug. 30 on selected weekends, part of the broader Beat The Summer celebration that continues through Aug. 31.
The party takes over Manulife presents: Horizon Cove, a waterfront venue along the Southern District coastline. Organizers are bringing in international guest DJs for the first four nights. South Korea's DJ Sura, known for high-energy EDM sets, plays July 4. Malaysia's DJ Amber Na, an online personality with over 17 million followers, spins July 5. DJ KIXON, popular in mainland China for crowd-commanding performances, takes the stage July 11. South Korea's DJ SunB, a doctor-DJ known for dynamic live sets, closes the first block July 12.
The programming leans into 1980s-inspired Hong Kong music culture, with DJs mixing nostalgic Cantopop remixes, golden hits and upbeat party tracks. By day, the park operates its indoor and outdoor water attractions. At night, the venue shifts to music, lights and a party atmosphere by the water.
Ocean Park has been pushing seasonal events to boost attendance after Hong Kong's tourism recovery lagged expectations. The park reported a 41% jump in revenue for the fiscal year ended June 2025, driven by higher visitor spending and event ticket sales. CANTON BEATS targets both local residents and tourists looking for a distinctive summer experience, the park said in a statement.
Tickets for individual event nights go on sale this week. The park has not disclosed pricing or capacity limits for the party series.
