Nufarm Limited (ASX: NUF) began trading on OTCQX under symbol NUFMF, giving U.S. investors direct access to the crop protection company's shares with transparent disclosure.
Nufarm Limited, a global crop protection and seed technologies company, began trading on the OTCQX Best Market on Wednesday under the symbol NUFMF. The company moved up from the Pink Limited Market, a step that gives U.S. investors access to its shares with financial disclosure and real-time Level 2 quotes on OTC Markets Group's platform.
Nufarm Chief Executive Officer Rico Christensen said the OTCQX listing is an important step in broadening the company's visibility and accessibility for U.S. investors. “The OTCQX platform provides a transparent and efficient way for investors to access our shares while benefiting from the governance and disclosure standards associated with our ASX listing,” Christensen said.
OTCQX is the top tier of OTC Markets Group's three public markets. Companies that qualify must meet high financial standards, follow best-practice corporate governance and comply with applicable securities laws. For firms already listed on a qualified international exchange, streamlined rules let them use their home-market reporting to make information available in the U.S.
Stephen Shipley, Vice President of APAC Corporate Services at OTC Markets Group, said the upgrade enhances Nufarm's visibility among U.S. investors while leveraging its ASX listing to expand access to one of the world's largest capital markets. “We look forward to supporting Nufarm as it continues to grow its profile among investors in the United States and globally,” Shipley said.
Nufarm, which has been in operation for more than 100 years, helps farmers and businesses meet demand for food, feed, fibre and fuel production. The company is based in Australia and listed on the ASX under the ticker NUF.
