The Indian Embassy in Qatar reported that 598 students sat for the NEET-UG 2026 examination in Doha on Sunday. The test was part of a larger re-examination held across India and 14 overseas centers, conducted under a multi-layered security net after a question paper leak controversy.
The embassy thanked the National Testing Agency (NTA), local Indian schools, and other stakeholders for the smooth conduct. In a social media post, it extended best wishes to candidates awaiting results. The NTA said the examination proceeded without complaints of leaks or disruptions, with Aadhaar-based biometric verification, facial authentication, CCTV, signal jammers, and two-layer frisking in place.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed confidence in the NTA and state administrations, urging students to appear “fearlessly.” He asked political stakeholders not to jeopardize the future of young candidates. Students across states reported Physics as the most challenging section, Biology as relatively easier, and Chemistry as moderate to difficult.
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said the agency is “100 per cent confident” in the integrity of the process and that no complaints of a leak had been received. He added that evaluation will begin shortly and results will be announced faster than usual, citing a compressed 37-day exam cycle.
The NTA mobilized nearly 700,000 personnel, including police and observers, for the examination. Special provisions covered over 10,000 candidates with disabilities and 81 with serious medical conditions, including one undergoing chemotherapy and another recovering from a road accident.
With the test complete, attention now shifts to the evaluation timeline. The NTA has promised faster-than-normal results.
