Natural gas broke below near-term support to $2.83. A close below the prior low confirms the breakdown. Watch the $2.86–$2.84 zone for a bounce or break.
Alpha Score of 68 reflects moderate overall profile with strong momentum, strong value, weak quality, moderate sentiment.
Natural gas broke below near-term support Thursday as sellers drove prices from a four-day high of $2.97 to a new low of $2.83. Trading remains near the session low, and a close below the prior low would confirm the breakdown and extend the bearish trend.
The current support zone, roughly $2.86 to $2.84, combines the higher swing low from May and the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement. That range is the obvious place to watch for a bounce or a decisive break.
Thursday’s price action formed a bearish outside day that engulfed the full range of the prior three sessions. That pattern carries more weight if the session closes below Tuesday’s low of $2.85. A daily close below $2.86 would confirm the bearish reversal signal triggered Monday when prices dropped below the May swing low.
A drop below Thursday’s low would put natural gas on track for the next target near the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement at $2.69. A rebound or consolidation could develop there, giving a counter-trend rally more room to unfold after a deeper decline.
If support holds near the current zone, an upside move toward the higher swing low at $3.02 and the 50-day moving average near $3.09 is possible. The 50-day moving average failed as support last week and is likely to act as dynamic resistance on any first leg up.
