Naqi Water opens a Riyadh branch for table eggs after completing the first production phase of its poultry project, extending beyond bottled water into Saudi Arabia's domestic food supply chain.
Naqi Water Co. opened a new branch in Riyadh dedicated to table eggs, the company said in a regulatory filing. The branch follows the completion of the first production phase of the company's poultry project.
The move extends Naqi Water's footprint beyond its core bottled-water business into the protein supply chain. Table eggs are a staple food item in Saudi Arabia, where the government has pushed for higher domestic food production under its Vision 2030 strategy.
The company did not disclose the branch's capacity, the number of eggs it expects to handle, or the total investment in the project. Naqi Water shares trade on the Saudi Exchange under the ticker 2282.
The Riyadh branch gives Naqi Water direct distribution in the kingdom's largest city, a market of roughly 8 million people. The poultry project's first production phase was completed in the first quarter of 2025, according to earlier company statements.
Naqi Water reported a net profit of 27.8 million riyals for the first nine months of 2024, down from 33.1 million riyals in the same period a year earlier. Revenue fell to 143.5 million riyals from 155.9 million riyals. The company has not provided a financial outlook for the egg business.
The filing did not specify a timeline for additional production phases or further branch openings.
