MS Amlin names Kirsten Mitchell-Wallace as CRO and Phil Young as CIO. The new leaders join as the Lloyd's insurer reshapes its executive team under parent MSIG.
MS Amlin has named Kirsten Mitchell-Wallace as chief risk officer and Phil Young as chief information officer, the Lloyd's insurer said this week.
Mitchell-Wallace will join in the "coming weeks". Young will come on board in the third quarter.
Mitchell-Wallace previously held senior roles at Oak Global and Lloyd's of London. She also worked at Scor. At MS Amlin she replaces Vishal Desai, the current CRO, who is moving into a new job within parent company MSIG. Desai becomes international CRO as part of MSIG's new international executive committee.
Young's background was not detailed in the announcement.
The appointments put two new leaders in charge of risk oversight and technology strategy at a time when insurers face growing regulatory scrutiny on internal model validation and rising pressure to digitize underwriting and claims processes. MS Amlin operates as a Lloyd's syndicate, writing property, casualty, marine and specialty lines.
MSIG, a Japanese insurer owned by Mitsubishi Sumitomo Insurance Group, acquired MS Amlin in 2017. The parent has been consolidating its international operations under a single executive committee structure.
Mitchell-Wallace's start date was not specified beyond the "coming weeks" timeframe. Young is expected in the third quarter.
