Moxa UC Series Earns DEKRA Cybersecurity Certification

DEKRA has certified Moxa's UC Series industrial computers to IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2, the testing and certification firm said Wednesday. The standard sets technical security requirements for components in industrial automation and control systems, covering identification, access control, system integrity, data confidentiality and resource availability.
For equipment manufacturers and system integrators, the certification gives an independent basis to show product security functions have been evaluated against a recognized international framework, DEKRA said. The timing lines up with the EU Cyber Resilience Act, which introduces cybersecurity obligations for manufacturers of products with digital elements. The CRA covers secure design, vulnerability handling and lifecycle maintenance. While the two frameworks are not identical, the IEC 62443 series serves as a reference for industrial products preparing for CRA readiness, helping companies structure security requirements and identify verification gaps, DEKRA said.
