Morrisons Palmers Green now lets shoppers order home, garden and DIY products from The Range, wilko and Homebase alongside groceries. The 800 sq ft hub opened Aug. 21 and offers next-day collection or home delivery.
Shoppers at Morrisons Palmers Green can now pick up home, garden and DIY products alongside their groceries. The supermarket opened an 800 sq ft collection hub inside the store on Friday, August 21, stocked with items from The Range, wilko and Homebase.
The space is not a traditional retail floor. Customers browse digital ordering stations set up near the entrance and place orders for thousands of products across home, garden and DIY categories. In-store screens connect to the online inventories of each brand. Orders placed by midday can be collected the next day at a dedicated counter. Home delivery is also available.
The hub also carries a selection of takeaway-today products – smaller items like paint brushes, plant pots and kitchen gadgets – so shoppers can grab something immediately without waiting for an order.
Each brand fills a different slot. The Range brings home decor, lighting, kitchenware and seasonal products. wilko supplies decorating essentials – paint, cleaning tools, household staples – built on a long reputation for low prices. Homebase focuses on project-led DIY and gardening: tools, timber, plants for both quick fixes and bigger renovations.
Morrisons is testing a model that adds category breadth without taking on inventory risk. The collection hub uses the brands' own supply chains and online stock. Morrisons provides the floor space and foot traffic. For the brands, it is a low-cost way to reach supermarket shoppers who might not visit a standalone store.
The location is 19 Aldermans Hill, London N13 4EU. The hub operates during normal store hours. Customers can browse, order, collect or arrange delivery.
The move follows a broader push by UK grocers to turn each shopping trip into a multi-category visit. Non-food categories carry higher margins than groceries, and hubs like this one let supermarkets compete with home and garden specialists without dedicating shelf space.
Morrisons did not disclose sales targets for the hub or plans for expansion to other stores.
