Chile's Morandé Wine Group expands beyond traditional wine with a 7% ABV cherry rosé, listing at Total Wine & More as Belle Cherry. The first release under the new Belle brand.
Morandé Wine Group has released a mid-strength cherry rosé, blending cherry wine with Sauvignon Blanc, and secured a first listing with Total Wine & More, the largest US independent fine-wine retailer. The 7% ABV wine, sold as Belle Cherry, is the first product under Morandé’s new Belle brand.
Crafted from fresh Chilean cherries, the rosé is pale pink, with sweet cherry and red fruit aromas and a hint of citrus and spice. The company said the launch targets growing consumer interest in alternative wine styles and lower-alcohol options.
“We’re seeing an opportunity to offer consumers something genuinely different from traditional wine, particularly as interest in new flavours and more moderate drinking occasions continues to evolve,” said José Ignacio Bascuñán, Export Director for Europe at Morandé. “As the world’s largest exporter of fresh cherries, Chile has an abundance of high-quality fruit, making it a natural area for us to explore through new and innovative wine styles.”
Bascuñán called the Total Wine listing “an exciting first step” and said it demonstrates the brand’s international potential. The cherry rosé follows Morandé’s earlier releases of El Cabernet de Ránquil 2020, made from 120-year-old vines, and HAX Zero, its first alcohol-free wine.
