Mondi's H1 EBITDA fell to EUR 379 million. Lower prices and higher costs squeezed margins. Higher volumes and cost control offset some pressure, generating EUR 347 million in cash.
Mondi reported underlying EBITDA of EUR 379 million for the first half of 2026, down from the prior year. Lower average selling prices and higher input costs squeezed margins. The company partially offset the decline with higher sales volumes and cost control, it said.
Tight control of working capital mitigated the fall in earnings, allowing Mondi to generate EUR 347 million in cash from operations.
"We remain focused on taking decisive action on those areas we can control," Group CEO Andrew King said on the earnings call.
The packaging and paper markets remain volatile, the company said. King noted the company continues to strengthen its competitive advantage despite the conditions.
