MMDA Hosts Free Viewing for Eala's Wimbledon Match

MANILA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will host a free public viewing of Alex Eala's Wimbledon Round of 16 match at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Monday. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with the match against Jasmine Paolini starting at 8:30 p.m.

The agency said the viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis and urged spectators to arrive early. The initiative was ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to show national support for Eala as she continues her historic Wimbledon run.

Eala faces Paolini, the No. 7 seed, for a spot in the quarterfinals. The match marks the deepest Grand Slam run by a Filipino tennis player in the Open era.
