Micro Center Columbus Gets Full Remodel, Reopens Aug. 22

Micro Center will reopen its Columbus flagship on Aug. 22 after a full remodel, the company said Monday. The store, at 747 Bethel Road, has been the chain's home base since 1979 and sits a short drive from Micro Center's corporate offices in Hilliard, Ohio.

The remodel adds interactive experience centers where shoppers can test hardware before buying, plus dedicated Ubiquiti and other brand zones. The store has stayed open during construction.

Micro Center operates 30 locations across the U.S., with an Austin store coming soon. The Columbus event will include giveaways and a custom mug. Shoppers who sign up for updates get a coupon for a free 128GB flash drive.

The chain, founded in Columbus in 1979, stocks more than 20,000 items and focuses on computer and electronics hardware for builders and enthusiasts. Its New York market has five stores; Chicago and Atlanta each have two.
