Magicpin's CEO said Vera onboarded 5 lakh merchants in three months; the company targets 10 lakh by 2026, a pace that pressures publicly listed food-delivery rivals.
Magicpin aims to more than double the merchant base of its AI assistant Vera to over 10 lakh by the end of 2026, founder and CEO Anshoo Sharma said. The platform had already onboarded more than 5 lakh restaurants and retailers within three months of Vera's launch.
Launched during a recent LPG crisis, Vera gives merchants real-time order-volume insights to help them plan operations and manage demand. Magicpin said the AI has handled over 50 lakh interactions across merchant workflows. More than 5 lakh merchants use Vera across 25 business verticals.
"We believe this is just the beginning of how AI will transform the way merchants operate and grow. The pace of adoption has been much faster than we expected," Sharma told PTI. He said the company aims to onboard 10 lakh merchants on Vera by end-2026.
Among cities with identifiable data, Bengaluru leads adoption with 1.23 lakh merchants. New Delhi follows with 1.08 lakh, then Hyderabad (70,500), Mumbai (68,500), Pune (40,000) and Gurugram (38,500). The metro focus suggests Vera targets the highest-density merchant areas.
Magicpin has committed $1 million toward building its AI stack, of which Vera is a key component. Sharma said the company continues to invest in expanding Vera's capabilities across marketing, merchant engagement, lead generation and business intelligence. The platform already serves merchants in more than 300 cities.
The rapid merchant adoption of Vera has implications for the broader food-delivery and e-commerce sector. Publicly traded platforms that rely on restaurant partnerships now face a new benchmark for merchant-side AI tools. Tools that provide real-time demand visibility can improve inventory planning and reduce waste, factors that directly affect restaurant profitability.
Quarterly filings from listed food-tech companies include merchant count and retention data, offering a direct comparison to Vera's adoption. Magicpin's target of 10 lakh merchants by end-2026 signals the company's expectation of continued strong uptake.
