Lawyers for former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro have proposed a June 2027 start date for his criminal trial in the United States, according to a Reuters report. The U.S. Justice Department prosecutors agreed to the same timeline.

Maduro, captured at his home alongside his wife by U.S. officials and brought to New York, faces a hearing Wednesday at 12 p.m. EDT in the Manhattan federal court.
