Larsen & Toubro on Monday said its metals and minerals division secured multiple mega orders from domestic public and private sector companies, including an iron ore handling plant in Chhattisgarh, a steel plant expansion in West Bengal, and a zinc processing plant.
The company classified each order as "mega", meaning valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore. L&T did not disclose the individual contract values.
The iron ore handling plant is part of an expansion program by India's largest iron ore producer, a public sector company, to reach 100 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) capacity by 2030. L&T's scope includes design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockpile, yard equipment and a rapid wagon loading system.
The steel plant expansion order came from another public sector Navratna company, raising capacity from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA in West Bengal. L&T will execute design-and-build and balance-of-plant packages, the company said.
The zinc processing plant order was awarded by a major private sector metals producer. The work covers design, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and associated site services.
T Kumaresan, Senior Vice President and Head of Utilities & Metals at L&T, said the orders across the mining, ferrous and non-ferrous sectors strengthen the company's position as a trusted partner in developing India's metals and minerals infrastructure.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro traded at ₹3,821 on the National Stock Exchange at the time of the announcement.
