Loop Industries posted a Q1 loss of $0.14 per share, wider than the $0.10 loss expected, as revenue slumped 80% to $0.3 million. The company is on track to commission its first commercial plant in 2027.
Loop Industries (LOOP) reported a wider-than-expected loss for its fiscal first quarter, with revenue falling 80% from a year earlier as the plastics recycler continues to scale its depolymerization technology.
The Quebec-based company posted a net loss of $5.2 million, or $0.14 per share, for the three months through May 2026. Analysts had expected a loss of $0.10 per share. Revenue came in at $0.3 million, well below the $1.5 million consensus estimate, according to data compiled by Zacks.
Loop attributed the revenue decline to the timing of technology licensing payments and lower product sales from its demonstration facility. The company said it remains on track to commission its first commercial-scale plant in South Carolina by early 2027.
Cash and equivalents stood at $12.1 million at quarter-end, down from $18.4 million three months earlier. Loop said it expects to fund operations through a combination of existing cash, equipment financing, and potential strategic partnerships.
The stock fell 12% in after-hours trading following the release.
