First diamond hole at Three Saints returns copper, gold, cobalt, molybdenum. CEO says assays confirm IOCG signature, boosting confidence for next drilling campaign.
Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) received positive assay results for the first diamond hole completed at the Three Saints project in Chile. Hole L3SRD003 confirmed the presence of copper, gold, cobalt, and molybdenum mineralisation across multiple mineralising events. The company said the geochemical signature is consistent with iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) style systems.
Anomalous copper started at 196 metres depth and continued to the end of the hole at 600 metres. CEO Coraline Blaud told HotCopper the results provide a strong indication of the project’s prospectivity and the potential scale of the mineralising system.
Blaud added that mineralisation appears largely structurally controlled. Multiple significant intervals were intersected throughout the hole, which she said demonstrates the persistence of mineralising processes across a substantial vertical extent.
The company’s next step is to review and reinterpret the available geophysical datasets against the new drillhole-derived geological information. The objective is to better define the controls on mineralisation and target the core of the system for the next drilling campaign. That campaign builds on earlier work at the company's other projects, where a similar drill push aims to deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate. The broader strategy remains focused on advancing the Chilean portfolio through systematic exploration.
Three Saints is Lodestar’s primary IOCG target in Chile. The property is at an early stage, and today’s results are the first from a dedicated diamond drilling programme. Blaud said the results have increased confidence in the exploration potential of the project.
