Litigant hurls abuses, throws papers at Supreme Court bench

In response, the litigant said, "That is all from my side. Everything is on record," then hurled an unparliamentary abuse and threw his case papers into the air.

Security intervened immediately. The bench took no action against the petitioner. "Considering the condition of the petitioner above-named, and does not propose to take any action against him," the court said in its order. The court also dismissed the petition on merits, finding no ground to interfere with the Allahabad High Court judgment.

A similar incident occurred in October 2025 when an advocate tried to throw a shoe at former Chief Justice BR Gavai. The Bar Council of India suspended that advocate's license, and the Supreme Court Bar Association terminated his membership. Chief Justice Gavai later insisted that no action be taken against the accused lawyer.

The court proceeded with the remaining cases on the cause list. No contempt proceedings were initiated.
