Leeuwin Metals lifted the Marda gold resource 53% to 378,600 ounces six months after its maiden estimate, with Evanston driving most of the growth.
Leeuwin Metals (ASX: LM1) has upgraded the resource for its Marda project in Western Australia to 378,600 contained ounces, a 53% jump from the maiden estimate delivered in December 2025.
The updated inventory sits at 11.4 million tonnes grading 1.03 grams per tonne gold, reported above a 0.30 g/t cut-off. Within that total, Indicated resources account for 3.1 million tonnes at 1.04 g/t for 104,000 ounces, while Inferred material makes up the balance at 8.3 million tonnes and 1.03 g/t for 274,600 ounces. All of it sits on granted mining leases.
The Evanston deposit drove most of the growth. It now holds 165,500 ounces across 5.4 million tonnes at 0.96 g/t, a 22% increase from the prior estimate. A higher-grade subset of 2.4 million tonnes at 1.49 g/t for 115,400 ounces exists within that, reported at an 0.80 g/t cut-off. The upgrade incorporated data from 69 new drillholes drilled during the current campaign along a 1.6 km mineralised corridor.
Marda Central contributes 94,400 ounces at 1.25 g/t, which includes a maiden estimate at the Dugite zone of 6,600 ounces at 1.15 g/t. The other deposits in the global inventory are Die Hardy at 76,000 ounces and Golden Orb at 24,700 ounces.
"To grow our global resource to 378,600 oz, and to lift Evanston by 22% in total ounces and 53% in Indicated ounces, only six months from our maiden resource, demonstrates the strength of the system at Marda," chair Chris Piggott said. "We are just getting started."
Piggott said the company is now starting development studies and permitting, with Evanston remaining "a key focus" through the rest of the year. Growth drilling is now concentrated at Golden Orb, Deception Hill, and Mt King.
