Kraken's parent Payward is not among Anthropic's initial Glasswing partners for Mythos 5, despite crypto industry interest. Coinbase and Binance also excluded.
Kraken's parent company Payward Inc. is not listed among the initial partners for Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5 defensive-security program, despite speculation that major crypto exchanges would gain early access. Anthropic restricted access to its Mythos Preview model on April 7 to selected Project Glasswing launch partners, committing up to $100 million in usage credits. Payward has issued no matching announcement, and Kraken's public news pages contain no disclosure. Reporting from Clubic says Coinbase and Binance also sought access but were kept out in the initial phase.
Anthropic describes Glasswing as a program where selected organizations test, find and remediate software vulnerabilities using Claude Mythos Preview. The company says Mythos Preview autonomously identified thousands of zero-day vulnerabilities, citing a 27-year-old OpenBSD flaw and a 16-year-old FFmpeg bug. Internal benchmarks on the CyberGym vulnerability-reproduction task show Mythos Preview at 83.1% versus Opus 4.6 at 66.6%, according to Anthropic.
Because crypto platforms run internet-facing systems that draw persistent probing, a model built for vulnerability discovery and triage would sit close to their operational risk controls. Public confirmations so far come from security and financial-infrastructure providers. Broadridge said on June 17 it joined Glasswing and would use Mythos Preview in defensive-security work. HackerOne followed on July 10 with its own announcement.
Anthropic's program materials emphasize a curated approach oriented to selected, often regulated institutions. Based on that posture, inclusion of a major crypto exchange would signal an expansion beyond the documented initial cohort. For an exchange, access to Mythos Preview's vulnerability-finding and reproduction capabilities, together with the usage credits, could accelerate patch cycles across wallets, APIs and trading systems.
As of August 19, Payward and Kraken do not appear on Anthropic's public partner list. The clearest indicators of Mythos access remain Anthropic's named partners and company press releases such as those from Broadridge and HackerOne.
