Kotak Investment Banking names co-CEOs in leadership shake-up

Srinivasan will advise on strategy, deepen client ties and help with key institutional relationships, the company said. Jayasankar and Mallik will share authority and responsibility equally, building on a partnership that has already produced results.

Kotak Investment Banking is a subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. It started in the early 1990s and has grown alongside India's capital markets. The firm advises Indian and multinational corporations, promoters and financial sponsors on equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and private equity.

The co-CEO structure is meant to ensure continuity. The firm said the two leaders share a commitment to clients, staff and growth.

Jayasankar and Mallik take over a franchise that has handled mandates across market cycles. Their first task will be to keep that momentum going without the day-to-day presence of a veteran who helped build it.
