KRR swaps a delayed helicopter survey for a drone-borne aeromagnetic program at 25m spacing over the historic Mindoolah goldfield, targeting concealed structures.

King River Resources (ASX:KRR) has contracted Magtech Surveys to fly a high-resolution drone-borne aeromagnetic survey over the historic Mindoolah gold project in Western Australia's Murchison Province. The survey, set to begin 25 June 2026, will cover priority target areas around the historically mined high-grade goldfield roughly 70km north-west of Cue.
The program marks a shift from the company's original plan. KRR had intended to run a helicopter-borne magnetic survey with 50m line spacing across the broader project area. That program was deferred due to ongoing third-party contractor delays in mobilisation and commencement, the company said.
Instead, the drone survey will fly at 25m line spacing at low altitude, using a QuSpin QTFM V2 optically pumped magnetometer. The tighter spacing is designed to resolve structures obscured in the existing regional geophysical coverage by the nearby Weld Range formations.
MD Graham Gadsby said the historical exploration at Mindoolah relied on broad regional magnetic datasets that are heavily obscured by those formations. The modern UAV program, he said, allows the company to map concealed structures and resolve the cross-cutting intersections that could control high-grade gold mineralisation.
The survey is expected to take roughly five days, with processed magnetic data and preliminary interpretation to follow shortly after. Gadsby said fieldwork begins next week, and the company expects to use the refined data to define its next phase of priority drill targets.
KRR shares last traded at A$0.012, giving the company a market cap of roughly A$15 million.
