Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas in Paradise Valley announced the final phase of a $70 million transformation. The project adds 134 Valley Villas, a private hotel-within-a-hotel called The Enclave, and Arizona's first Katsuya restaurant. Completion is set for the first quarter of 2027.
Phase one reimagined 260 guestrooms and meeting spaces. Phase two extends the property across 40 acres with a residential feel. The Valley neighborhood targets longer stays and multigenerational groups. Pricing has not been disclosed.
The Enclave is the standout. Ten residence-style rooms come with kitchenettes, expanded living space, and a spa-inspired bath. The private pool complex borrows from Japanese onsen rituals: warm pools, cold plunge, sauna, and relaxation areas. "What makes this partnership distinct is how we've integrated Katsuya throughout the property," said Sam Nazarian, sbe's founder and CEO, in the release. That integration touches service, design, and amenities.
Katsuya's Arizona debut pairs with James Beard finalist Chef Wes Avila's Hecho Libre, giving the resort two chef-driven restaurants. That is rare for a single resort in the Scottsdale area. Arash Azarbarzin, Highgate's principal, called Katsuya "a culinary debut Scottsdale has not seen before."
The renovation is a bet on luxury travel demand holding through 2027. IHG owns the Kimpton brand. For IHG shareholders, this property is one of several high-end portfolio upgrades. The company has been expanding its luxury footprint through both new builds and renovations.
The property will have 404 renovated keys once complete, along with six pools and 22 event venues. More than 50,000 square feet of meeting space targets corporate retreats and events. That scale suggests the hotel is aiming for a mix of leisure and business.
Construction is sequenced so that existing operations run without disruption. Reservation dates have not been announced.
