KFC is swapping its burger bun for naan bread in a five-week summer promotion. The chain also added two permanent matcha drinks to its Kwench range.
KFC rolled out a limited-edition Crispy Naan menu across UK and Ireland restaurants on July 20, swapping its traditional burger bun for a soft naan bread. The five-week promotion runs through August 23, the company said.
The lineup includes two sandwich variants. The Tandoori Zinger Crispy Naan pairs a spicy Zinger fillet with Tandoori sauce, tomato, red onion, lettuce and melted cheese. The Creamy Original Crispy Naan uses the Original Recipe fillet with a new yoghurt and shallot sauce, the same vegetables and cheese. Both are served between two naan breads.
KFC also introduced a Tandoori Dipping Feast with 14 Original Recipe Tenders, two portions of Tandoori Loaded Fries, regular fries, sides, dips and a large drink. The company described it as a sharing option for groups.
Separately, KFC expanded its Kwench specialty drinks range with two matcha beverages, available from July 20. The Iced Strawberry Shortcake Matcha combines vanilla syrup, strawberry purée and shortcake crumb. The Iced Vanilla Matcha uses vanilla syrup. Both are made with ceremonial-grade PerfectTed matcha and can be made with dairy milk or Oatly oat milk. Unlike the Crispy Naan menu, the matcha drinks are a permanent addition, the company said.
The Crispy Naan menu is available at participating KFC restaurants, through the KFC app and via delivery partners. The company did not disclose sales targets or expected revenue impact from the launch.
