Kenmare Resources appoints Mahmood Al Khatri as non-executive director, replacing Issa Al Balushi. The new board member is a senior manager at Oman Investment Authority.
Kenmare Resources, one of the world's largest titanium mineral producers, announced a board change. Non-executive director Issa Al Balushi stepped down on Aug. 22, and Mahmood Al Khatri was appointed the same day.
Both men were nominated by African Acquisition Sarl, Kenmare's largest shareholder, which is controlled by the Oman Investment Authority. Al Khatri is a senior manager at OIA, overseeing private equity fund investments across buyouts, growth, and venture capital in North America, Europe, and Asia. He has more than 15 years of experience in public and private markets.
Chairman Andrew Webb thanked Al Balushi for his "very valuable contribution" and "diligence and insights" during his tenure. Webb said the board looks forward to welcoming Al Khatri.
Kenmare operates the Moma Titanium Minerals Mine in Mozambique, which accounts for roughly 6% of global titanium feedstocks. The company supplies customers in more than 15 countries.
