KBO's NC Dinos Use Naver Wallet for NFT Baseball Tickets

NC Dinos, a South Korean baseball club in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), will issue NFT tickets through Naver's Npay Wallet for a 196-seat section at Changwon NC Park. The system goes live with the Aug. 18 home game against the Doosan Bears. It is the first time a KBO team has used Naver's Npay Wallet-based NFT ticketing for a dedicated seating area, the club said Tuesday.

The 'Naver Zone' covers Section 117's table seats. Under the system, fans buy tickets through Naver, pay with Npay for point accrual and redemption benefits, and receive the ticket as an NFT stored in the Npay Wallet. The club said the format targets ticket forgery and unauthorized resales by enabling digital asset custody through the wallet infrastructure.

Access to Naver Zone sales is available to Naver and Npay members, with purchases capped at four tickets per account. Fans can reach the ticketing page through a banner in Naver Sports' baseball section or by searching "NC Dinos" on Naver and navigating from the club information page. Payments use Npay's one-click method, with additional point incentives offered through Npay Wallet-related promotions, according to the club.

Tickets for the Aug. 18-19 home games go on sale at 3 p.m. local time on Aug. 13 (2 a.m. UTC). After that, sales follow the club's regular schedule, opening six days before each game.

Naver's Web3 wallet, tied to a user's Naver ID, functions as more than a storage layer. It includes a topic-based open community feature called 'Channels' and a ticket-holder-only 'ticket verification room.' Verified attendees can share updates, cheer messages, and post-game reactions even after purchase. The approach blends access control with community building.
