Julien Frascadore to Carry Maple Leaf at Commonwealth Closing

Erica Wiebe, Team Canada's Chef de Mission, said the honour recognized more than the gold medal. "What stood out even more was the way the entire Canadian judo team supported one another throughout these Games," Wiebe said in a statement. "They celebrated together, faced challenges together and reminded all of us that our greatest strength comes from the people around us."

Frascadore called the selection "an incredible honour" and said the team's mutual support was the defining memory of the Games. "Carrying the Maple Leaf is a privilege that belongs to all of us," he said. The Closing Ceremony takes place Sunday evening in Glasgow.
