Jeepney brake failure in Bataan injures 18

The jeepney sped out of control. The driver tried to avoid a Victory Liner bus that was loading and unloading passengers. The jeepney hit the left rear of the bus. It then struck a concrete post and crashed into the fence of a house.

All 18 people in the jeepney were hurt. Initial reports said none suffered serious or fatal injuries. No one on the bus was injured.

Rescue and medical personnel took the injured to J.C. Payumo Memorial Hospital. The jeepney, the bus, the electric post and the fence all sustained damage. Authorities have not yet determined the extent of the damage. An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances and liability.
