Infineum and Kangtai, a Rianlon subsidiary, signed a distribution collaboration agreement on July 22 that gives Infineum's Southern Asia distributors access to Kangtai's additive and specialty chemical products.
The deal lets Kangtai sell through Infineum's established regional channels, broadening its reach outside China. Kangtai makes lubricant additives for automotive, railway, marine and industrial use. Its annual capacity exceeds 150,000 tons.
"Southern Asia is a critical growth region for Kangtai," said Mavis Xian, the company's general manager. "This collaboration enables us to accelerate and strengthen our presence outside of China."
John Hong, Infineum's Asia Pacific sales director, called the deal "a positive step for our distributors across Southern Asia, expanding their range with Kangtai's components and industrial additives."
Chris Locke, Infineum's EVP for sustainable transportation, said the expanded distributorship gives customers access to "complementary portfolio offerings from both Infineum and Kangtai."
The agreement complements Rianlon's ongoing investment in a new R&D and manufacturing facility in Malaysia. Kangtai plans to expand its own Malaysian manufacturing plant by the first quarter of 2028.
Infineum has more than 2,000 employees globally and focuses on formulation chemistry for the energy transition, including internal combustion engine efficiency and alternative fuels. Kangtai, listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as SZ300596, employs over 500 people and operates as a certified national green factory.
