Iltani returns 1m at 1,390 g/t AgEq at Orient West; high-grade veins support open-pittable resource upgrade as drilling continues.
Iltani Resources has returned high-grade silver and indium intersections from its Orient West infill drilling in North Queensland. The best interval, from 104 metres down-hole, graded 1 metre at 192 grams per tonne silver, 925 g/t indium, 1.8% lead, and 13.9% zinc for 1,390 g/t silver equivalent.
Iltani has completed 65 reverse-circulation holes for 12,297 metres out of a planned 110-hole program at the Orient silver-indium project near Herberton. Two rigs are working: one on Orient West infill, the other now starting infill at Orient East. The company expects results to keep flowing over the coming months as it works to close the gap between the two zones and test extensions along strike.
Further high-grade intersections came from holes ORR151 and ORR158. ORR151 returned 1 metre at 358 g/t silver, 213 g/t indium, 7.6% lead, and 7.3% zinc for 1,092 g/t silver equivalent from 49 metres. ORR158 delivered 1 metre at 46 g/t silver, 811 g/t indium, 0.1% lead, and 12.9% zinc for 1,080 g/t silver equivalent from 242 metres. All three intervals sit at open-pittable depths.
Managing director Donald Garner said the results continued to demonstrate the strength of the system. "With an increasing focus on the critical role of indium in high-technology applications, it is good to see the drilling continue to intersect high-grade massive sulphide indium-rich vein systems," he said. Garner described Orient as Australia's largest known silver-indium deposit, with potential to be one of the world's biggest suppliers of indium-rich concentrate.
The infill program targets increased grade, tonnage, and confidence in the current resource. Iltani expects the drilling to support a resource category upgrade and underpin initial scoping studies. Based on historical workings and outcrop sampling, the company has identified 900 metres of known mineralisation along the north-east trend that has not been comprehensively drill tested.
Once the wheeled rig finishes at Orient, it will move to regional targets including Boonmoo Epithermal, Boonmoo Bonanza, and Union Jack. Further assays from the ongoing program are due in the coming months.
