Debt-free balance sheet with C$12.4M in working capital positions Heliostar Metals to advance its Ana Paula gold project in Mexico without dilution or financing risk.
Heliostar Metals Ltd. (HSTXF, HSTR:CA) holds no debt and carries enough cash to fund its near-term development plans, the company said in its latest quarterly filing.
The junior gold miner ended the quarter with C$12.4 million in working capital and zero long-term borrowings. That puts it in a stronger position than many peers in the Canadian exploration space, where project financing often depends on equity raises or debt facilities.
Heliostar's flagship asset is the Ana Paula project in Mexico, a past-producing gold mine it is advancing toward a feasibility study. The company has been consolidating land packages in the region and drilling to expand the resource base.
Management said the clean balance sheet lets it move forward without dilution or interest expense, a contrast with developers that have to fund each drilling campaign with fresh stock issuance. The cash position covers permitting, drilling, and administrative costs through the next 12 to 18 months, the filing showed.
Shares are down about 40% from the 12-month high, tracking the broader pullback in gold equities despite bullion prices holding above $2,300 an ounce. The discount reflects project-stage risk rather than balance-sheet stress, analysts said.
