Svenska Handelsbanken reported second-quarter results that showed a decline in net interest income and an increase in costs. The Swedish lender's net interest income for the quarter came in at SEK 10.9 billion, down from SEK 11.2 billion a year earlier. Loan losses were SEK 0.4 billion, up from SEK 0.3 billion in the year-ago period. The bank said the increase reflected a cautious outlook on the Swedish economy. Handelsbanken's board proposed an interim dividend of SEK 3.50 per share, unchanged from the prior year.
