Hamelin Gold (ASX:HMG) led ASX small-cap gainers Monday. The stock rose 45% to 14.5 cents after the company reported high-grade gold intercepts from its Day Dawn project in Western Australia.
Managing Director Peter Bewick called the first drill results "highly encouraging." The mineralisation is open at depth and along strike, he said. Remaining assay results from the phase one program are due in the coming weeks. A second RC drilling phase at Day Dawn kicks off in August. Deep diamond drilling, co-funded by the EIS, will follow the RC program. It aims to test for a Telfer-style gold system below the current mineralisation.
The broader ASX 20 was flat, up just 1.4 points to 8,798.
EQ Resources (ASX:EQR) drew a different catalyst. The 16.8% stake held by Oaktree Capital Management was bought by Andrew Forrest. Oaktree backed the Barruecopardo tungsten mine acquisition in Spain and the Mt Carbine expansion in North Queensland. EQR rose 31.8% to 29 cents on the ownership change.
Boresight signed a lease for a manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The new plant is roughly 15 times the size of the company's current U.S. facility. CEO Justin Olde said the company plans to buy more 3D printing and supporting technology for the site. Servicing U.S. customers directly from the new plant "increases our responsiveness to customer requirements whilst reducing delivery lead times and freight costs," Olde added. The move also insulates Boresight from tariff policy changes, he said. BST rose 24.6% to 43 cents.
The moves spanned the commodities space, from precious metals to industrial minerals.
The ASX 20 was flat on the session, up 1.4 points to 8,798.
