The Singapore-based company said its Koncepts Energy Management SME Kit is the first packaged solution of its kind listed under iSPRINT. SMEs can claim up to $20,000 for the first solution purchased in each category, bringing the basic electrical package to S$2,066 after the grant. The kit includes smart metering, software-as-a-service, installation and training.
The funding comes under the government's S$17 million SME Energy Efficiency Initiative, led by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore with support from SPRING Singapore, the National Environment Agency and the IDA. The program targets at least 10% energy savings for adopters.
Green Koncepts CEO Kenneth Lee said the company designed the package after hearing from customers who found existing options too expensive or complex. "At S$6,888 for the basic package before support from iSPRINT, this package makes it very affordable for SMEs with a short Return on Investment," he said. "Interest has been very keen even prior to our official launch."
The system monitors energy use in real time from a web browser, flags wastage through analytics and sends SMS or email alerts for abnormal consumption, water leaks or equipment faults. The company said the technology avoids additional wiring, cutting deployment time and disruption.
SEAS executive director Kavita Gandhi said SMEs can save up to 30% of energy consumption with an energy management system. "The KEM SME Kit developed by Green Koncepts is an essential tool to help SMEs reduce their energy costs and increase their productivity," she said.
Green Koncepts will showcase the kit at BEX Asia 2013 in Singapore from Sept. 11-13.
