GoodPower trained nearly 2,500 creators in 18 months. The Fast Company award signals creator-led communications are going mainstream for clean energy.
GoodPower won a Fast Company 2026 World Changing Ideas Award for its Global Creator Academy. The award, in the General Excellence list, recognizes projects that deliver measurable impact on pressing global problems, the magazine said.
The academy launched in September 2024 and has since recruited and trained nearly 2,500 creators. Those creators produce content that counters misinformation and explains the economic case for renewable energy. The model builds on GoodPower's Creator Collective program, which started in 2020 with a U.S. focus and now includes more than 9,900 creators. That program also won awards.
GoodPower was early to integrate creator-led communications into advocacy. The group said its model is now being copied by other organizations that struggle to reach audiences traditional communications approaches miss. The recognition from Fast Company suggests the approach is gaining institutional credibility.
The readthrough for the clean energy sector is about the infrastructure of public support. Renewable energy projects worldwide face permitting delays and local opposition. Misinformation about costs and environmental impact slows adoption even where policy and economics are favorable. GoodPower's strategy trains local creators who already have audience trust. The Global Creator Academy focuses on markets like Brazil and South Africa, where public awareness of the energy transition often lags government targets.
GoodPower operates with a mission to accelerate the shift to a decarbonized economy. The organization works globally to highlight the economic benefits of that shift: lower energy bills and better jobs. The creator campaigns are designed to make those benefits tangible for everyday audiences.
The group said its next campaigns will emphasize those economic benefits. The Global Creator Academy will continue expanding its network of creators.
The award validates a strategy GoodPower started years before creator engagement became a widely adopted tactic. That strategy is now being replicated by other advocacy organizations, the group said.
