Globex Mining Enterprises reported gold assays of up to 1.88 grams per tonne over 4.85 metres from the Main Antimony Zone at its Bald Hill Property in New Brunswick. The results come from a drilling program run by Antimony Resources Corp., which has the property under option.
Antimony Resources evaluated roughly 190 intervals from more than 45 holes completed to date, focusing on intersections above 0.5 g/t gold. Tabulated data shows a strong correlation between high antimony grades and higher gold grades. The Main Zone remains open to the north and south, and appears to extend into the Central Zone, where surface trench sampling identified high-grade stibnite and gold mineralization.
The known antimony-bearing mineralization extends over 1,000 metres on surface. Gold has been detected in drilling across 600 metres of the Main Zone. Antimony Resources is now drilling to expand the Main Zone to the northwest and southeast. Drilling has also started in the Central Zone, where more than 2,000 metres have been completed. Preliminary logging there identified antimony-bearing stibnite in breccia similar to the Main Zone, with intersected widths up to 37 metres.
The first batch of assays from the Central Zone is being processed at Actlabs. Results should be available in three to four weeks. Antimony Resources said there are indications of gold potential in that area too.
The next catalyst is the Central Zone assay results, expected within a month. If they confirm gold grades comparable to the Main Zone, the property's value profile could shift. For now, the correlation between antimony and gold gives explorers a vector for follow-up drilling.
