The eight-acre expansion brings Riverland's Sports & Racquet Club to 24 acres with 53 pickleball courts, among the most in any U.S. private residential community. A gym expansion is also underway.
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – GL Homes has finished expanding the Riverland Sports & Racquet Club in Port St. Lucie, adding eight covered pickleball courts, eight outdoor pickleball courts, five tennis courts, 12 bocce courts and a new sports pavilion. The eight-acre buildout brings the club's total campus to 24 acres.
The addition of 16 pickleball courts pushes Riverland's total to 53, making it one of the largest pickleball facilities inside a private residential community in the U.S., the company said.
"A successful community is one that grows with the people who call it home," said Misha Ezratti, president of GL Homes. He said the expansion reflects a commitment to planning amenities with the future in mind, ensuring Riverland continues to offer spaces residents value as the community evolves.
The company is also expanding the Riverland Wellness & Fitness Center, adding 50% more gym space. The project will add new cardio and strength training equipment, an expanded stretching and recovery area, and a spa with hot and cold plunge pools, rain treatment showers, an aromatherapy steam room, infrared sauna, herbal sauna and Himalayan salt serenity lounge.
The sports club sits within Riverland, one of GL Homes' larger master-planned communities. Other amenities include an arts and culture center, a paseo park and greenway, and a town center. Each neighborhood within the community also has a Valencia Social Club.
GL Homes was founded by Itzhak Ezratti 50 years ago and is now run by his son. The company focuses on Florida communities for families and 55-plus buyers.
Rachel Nehring, a spokesperson for GL Homes, said interested buyers can get more information at glhomes.com or by calling 800-574-9205.
